The Radiology/Imaging Clerk performs all duties associated with the preparation and completion of all Imaging procedures. Greets and directs all patients, prepares all Imaging films for interpretation, works with Radiology Information Systems and interacts regularly with patients, physicians and all nursing Units. Schedules patients, manages patient records, hands out appropriate contrast media, prepares red charts, and logs patient information into the computer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:Answers all incoming calls in a professional manner using appropriate scripting, assist callers, screens and transfers calls and forwards communication to all parties. Collates in:coming requests for diagnostic procedures from the hospitals order entry system and verifies all information for accuracy.
:Greets patients, confirming their identification, and introduces self. Assists patients with screening forms and gowning examination requirements in preparation for procedure.
:Files, retrieves and copies/scans imaging records as required ensuring the timely processing of examinations and radiology services, billing, etc. and as requested. Processes and documents all requests for diagnostic imaging results and/or copies. Maintains a legal correspondence file. Documents and responds to all communications regarding requests for records.
:Performs scheduling functions of diagnostic tests to include all pertinent information required including inputting of data. Retrieves and prints patient schedules for previous imaging record retrieval.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Additional college courses to include medical terminology preferred. Previous office/clerical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel) and above average typing skills.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification is preferred.
